I began learning the violin at the age of three with the Lowestoft Suzuki Group and music has been a significant part of my life ever since. In 2008 I graduated from the University of East Anglia with a BA(Hons) degree in Music. Since graduating I have also gained my DipABRSM performance diploma.

I am a registered teacher with the British Suzuki Institute and I now teach violin and saxophone full time in schools and at home. I enjoy performing with many local orchestras and ensembles, including The Waveney String Duo, The Malt House String Quartet and the Norwich Philharmonic Orchestra.

The Suzuki Method

The Suzuki Method is based on the philosophy and teaching methods of the world renowned Japanese violinist and teacher, Dr. Shinichi Suzuki. Suzuki was struck by the ease at which children learn to speak their mother tongue. He realised that the secret for this was training and so, using the principles of language development, he went on to develop the 'mother tongue' approach. Individual lessons are arranged at a fixed time on a weekly basis and take place in Earsham (near Bungay) or Norwich.

Group lessons are held every 2-3 weeks on Saturday mornings in Norwich.
